Suspension Lamps
Fused Glass Panels for Lighting, Area Dividers, Table Tops, and Backsplashes.
“Adventures in Paradise” Series, Strini Art Glass uses their recycled, retired pieces of blown glassware and layers them onto another flat sheet to fuse together. These layered glass panels are then slowly taken up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit to achieve a fully fused homogeneous fused piece of glass. This glass is then cooled slowly to the annealing temperature of 950 degrees, and is then soaked for a couple of hours. From this point the glass goes into an cool down annealing cycle to fully eliminate any possible stress that forms when glass cools and shrinks. This cycle is about 12 hours. The piece now has been annealed properly and will take to cutting and grinding and remain very durable once it is in place as a finished product. At this point it is also ready to slump over a form with another lower temperature firing, to create a shape for sculptural or lighting applications. ![]()
